It's our annual used-book sale with more than 50,000 hardcover and paperback books. There are children's books, classics, collectibles, teacher materials, reference items, audio, video, records, puzzles and magazines. In non-fiction, there are books on history, biography, science, art, health, nature, hobbies, languages, sports and a large number of cookbooks. Our fiction selection offers all genres. Our collectibles area contains unique and special books; first editions, autographed copies, coffee table format, local interest and books by local authors as well.

Book Bonanza will hold "Last Saturday of the Month" collections from March through October. We will not have collections from November to February.

Collections will continue throughout the year on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:30AM unless it is a holiday.

People can continue to call BB 484-706-0731 to schedule other times for delivery of books.


Who are the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries and what do they do?

The Friends of Berks County Public Libraries is a volunteer, non-profit association dedicated to improving the services provided by ALL public libraries in Berks County.

Since 1980, The Friends continue to:

  • Create public support for an expanding county library program.
  • Intensify community awareness and use of the libraries.
  • Provide direct financial assistance for expenditures beyond the command of the ordinary system budget.
  • Sponsor programs designed to add to the cultural life of the community.
  • Support local level Friends groups by providing advice and funds for start-up activities.
  • Encourage gifts, endowments and memorials for the libraries.
  • Work for library legislation and appropriations.
  • Aid in public relations for all county libraries.


Bookends is a nationally-recognized newsletter published four times a year. Editor, Linda Miller combines wit and wisdom as Bookends helps get the message out about what is happening at area libraries.

Bookends may be found at all county libraries.
